Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American dancer, actress and singer since the early 1990s. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway role, she was her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she was awarded the Tony Award. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress and director has spent most of her career working alongside famous directors and actors both on screen and in television. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently in production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to air on Disney DTC as it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place in March 2023 when he stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will lead the production. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters in the first impeachment trial in the United States in over a century. Ashford starred for two seasons in CBS successful comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. The show featured Linda Lavin, Hector Elizondo, as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her performance as Essie in You Can't Take It with You was a winner of the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Ashford is from the city of Denver native who now divides his time in Los Angeles.
