Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on 8 August 1976. She was youngest child of four. Audrey's parents, both a dental dentist and a teacher, recognized and supported their daughter's passion for theater and drama at the age of a stage novice. This support was enough to thwart her initial goal of becoming a primatologist. Early success and a rapid rise in fame made her a promising young actor. In 1998, after completing her degree she was invited to participate in Jeunes Premiers which is a French television talent-scouting program that was that was sponsored by Canal+. There she won the award for Best Young Actress in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. It was this that led her to embark on a professional career as an actor. Tautou attended church and the Institut Catholique de Paris during her youth, however she is now separating herself from her childhood. Modeling and acting were intertwined. Tautou was the model of L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is known as the Chanel Muse. A keen photographer, she produced a recent exhibition at The Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. Her photographs are largely about the spotlight and fame. The exhibit also includes self-portraits in addition. Audrey Tautou's debut role, as Amelie Poulain's leading actress in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie, landed the actress international fame. Amelie received international recognition due to its success at the box office. The film was also recognized during awards ceremonies around the globe. It is currently the highest-grossing French language movie across the US. The film's success led Tautou to a variety of roles, from British dramas as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
