Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actor, singer and music producer. Her mom raised her in the USA, where she faced several racial stereotypes, which caused her to feel as an unwanted person. In the 9th grade, she felt more comfortable after she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success when she sang at the school's audition. The experience not only helped her gain confidence but changed the direction she was heading in her the future. At the age of 22, she graduated the Julliard School of New York. Her professional career began at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. Her greatest break came in her performance as The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her performance. The recognition grew even more by appearing on Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. As a well-known singer, she also released a single and an extended version of her play. In addition, she's an activist who is active for LGBT rights.
